All members are invited to the climax of the Wednesday Evening Summer Pursuit Series this coming Wednesday. Last week saw some 34 boats on the water. Lets try and beat this number for the final. Prizes for the series winners and throughout the fleet will be presented on the night.
Optimist start 6.40pm. Be there early for a car park space.
As always Karen will provide excellent grub on the night and Dave excellent beverage to enable full analysis and discussion to take place post racing.
The 2018 Club Championships will be held this Sunday 26th August.
Three handicap races will be held with the first one starting at 12.30. Two races to count.
This is an event for all levels of experience from keen racers to those new to sailing. There will be prizes throughout the fleet and we encourage all new members to take part in this fun day. The winds look good so please come down and join in.
We are organising a Trophy day on Saturday 11th August which we propose to run for double handed boats only. The aim is to give less experienced members the chance to race with a more experienced helm and so introduce them to or increase their confidence in racing.
Please put your name on the list on the clubhouse noticeboard or email me before Monday 6th August if you wish to take part so that I can make up suitable pairings or possibly threes. The club double handed boats will be available free of charge for the day and the first race of 3 will be at 12.30 with 2 races to count.
Let’s try to get a big turn out from those with little or no experience of racing as well as the more experienced.

Clear Those Weeds – Help Urgently Needed.
Saturday 30th June 10:00 Hours
You may have noticed that weeds are pushing up fast all around the club so it is proposed to have a good effort to get these under control and generally tidy the areas around the carpark, club buildings and berths.
If you can spare a couple of hours we can make light work of the job and get your club looking shipshape again! Full training will be given so you don’t need any prior experience, just get your gardening gloves on and down to the club around 10:00 on the 30th June. The club has only a limited number of tools so if you can bring some basic gardening stuff it would be helpful.
Refreshments will be provided and you might even get a sandwich if you work particularly hard.
In hope and expectation,
Just a reminder that this years Friday Night Junior & Beginner series will commence this Friday, June 1st and will run for 8 weeks until July 20th. There will be one race per evening starting at 7pm with a quick briefing at 6.30. You don’t need to sign up in advance, just turn up on the day.
This year we have extended the series to include beginners ie; those members who started sailing on or after January 1st 2017.
We will need at least 4 volunteers for safety duty, one of whom must hold their PB license. If you are able to offer assistance, please make yourself known at the club from about 6pm onwards. Thank you in advance to those who can turn up.
Any questions, please email me at email@example.com and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
Your club has enrolled in the national RYA Club Members’ Satisfaction Survey 2018 to help us understand how you feel about your club and what you like and dislike. The web based survey link will be sent to you by email and it will be easy to take part. The questions cover a range of topics so that we can get a full understanding of how you feel about Elton.
It will be going live from 1st June so you may receive an email around that time. All data will be treated according to relevant regulations by the club, the RYA and TLF and any information gathered will be treated in the strictest confidence and only used for the purposes of the survey. All responses will be treated as anonymous and will not identify individuals so you can be completely honest with your answers and comments.
The survey is fully funded by the RYA and is being offered to all affiliated clubs. It will be of great benefit to Elton if you can complete the survey since it will enable us to identify ways of improving your club. The more members that take part the more representative the results will be so please find the time to respond. When the results are complete a summary will be shared with all members.
You can find out more about the survey by following the link in the Broadcast e mail.
You can expect the survey email to come from the following address so check you spam folder :RYAclubmembersurvey@leadershipfactor.com
