Sailing is a fantastic activity to be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities. Discover Sailing is a National Campaign backed by the RYA to encourage people into the pastime of Sailing.
You can experience for the first time or as a returning participant at your local sailing club; Elton Sailing Club (ESC) Bury. We are located at Elton Reservoir, Hinds Lane, Bury BL8 2BR.
We are holding 2 special open days to provide you with FREE introductory taster Sessions, these are to be held on Saturday 29 April 2023 and Saturday 13 May 2023

Come on Down and Have A Go, What have you got to lose
No special equipment needed, just comfortable clothes and footwear that you don’t mind getting wet, you are not expected to get wet but just in case bring a change of clothing and a towel.
Elton Sailing Club is one of the oldest established sailing clubs being formed in 1858, we have developed sailors from Novice to National Champions and Olympic medalists.
We have fantastic facilities envied by many other clubs, we can provide you with all the equipment and training needed for you to progress with the activity of sailing whether you wish to participate as a sport and enjoy racing or as a leisurely pastime to enjoy.
We have a thriving junior training team who won regional honors last year, We have dedicated sessions for ladies. We cater for all ages if they have the abilities, we currently have young sailors from 6 year old to Octogenarian Master sailors. We provide equipment and training to get you to a good level. We have an active club level racing program. We enjoy social events utilising our function rooms, bar and kitchen facilities.
