Dear Members,
Following the lift of restrictions on water sports from the UK government and having now received permission to go-ahead from our insurers and the Canal and Rivers Trust we are now able to open the grounds only of the sailing club from and including Sunday, May 17th. This means that members can now participate in water sports at their own risk. Prior to doing so, members must have read and understood the attached document on club policy, guidelines and risk assessment and must adhere to these at all times. This document will also be available on social media and on the door of the clubhouse.
Although it is thought that Covid 19 is not as easily transmitted outdoors there is still a risk of contracting the virus. Anyone displaying symptoms of Covid 19 must not attend the sailing club.
As proposed by the RYA we have set up a Covid 19 team who will be carefully monitoring the situation at the sailing club along with UK government guidelines and information from the RYA. This means that we can react promptly to any changes in this very fluid situation. The members are; myself, David Whitehead, Dave Moore, Geoff McClardy and Adam Fuller.

Once you have read the documentation, anyone who has any further queries can contact me at commodore@eltonsailingclub.co.
If in doubt, don’t go out.
Stay safe,
Steph
